We are the Oxford branch of the health section of UNISON, the largest public sector trade union in the UK and Europe, with over 1.3 million members.

We are a democratic and anti-discriminatory organisation open to all health workers in Oxfordshire.

The branch consists of over 3,500 members mainly employed in the NHS with some in the private sector, students and retired members. Members come from the majority of disciplines in the health sector, including cleaners, catering staff, porters, nurses, secretaries, OTs to name just a few.

We have a small but growing stewards team who organise in all the major NHS Trusts.

The branch aims for it's members to organise to ensure they have a voice at work and are treated with dignity and respect.

The branch also campaigns for workers rights to be respected and extended to give greater benefits to our members.

We organise through elected representatives who represent members in negotiations and consultations with employers to ensure the best deal possible for pay and terms and conditions, including health and safety at work.

The branch also supports a variety of campaigns as we know branch members also have a life outside work and are subject to a wide range of issues, such as privatizations and cuts in public services, domestic violence and debt and much more.

People join us because they know that alone we have little power in front of our employers, but together we can make a difference.

United we stand, divided we fall, all for one and one for all.
